:: A Message From The CEO
I would like to welcome you to the Academy of Medical Billing (AMB), a subsidiary of CAY Medical Management, Inc.
As you explore my website, you will learn about the unique training offered by AMB.
Like you, I had an entrepreneurial dream and formed my own company to pursue my goal of owning and operating a medical billing center. Today that success has allowed me to open the Academy of Medical Billing and help you achieve your dream. That success has also allowed me to write my first book on the medical billing industry. Later I went on to write two more books and have the only published book available on this subject.
AMB will not guarantee you instant success or a quick start. AMB prides itself on our unique training and honesty. AMB emphasizes that it takes hard work, motivation, and perseverance. Most importantly, it takes a solid, comprehensive training foundation. AMB offers you the solid foundation and the building blocks to fulfill your entrepreneurial dream.
My background consists of more than twenty years claims processing, medical billing and hospital administration experience. In addition I am the author of three published books, my latest book, is widely sold in book stores and on the Internet.
Today my success has allowed me to expand and open a new billing and training center in North Carolina. In addition to overseeing an extensive billing practice, I have provided national seminars in numerous states on Medical Billing and Marketing. I also run individual training seminars to physicians and their staff in several states.
When I am not giving individualized hands-on training, motivational speaking engagements, or software training, you can find me working with my staff in the billing office.
I look forward to welcoming you to the Academy of Medical Billing and making your dream a reality.
Claudia A. Yalden, CEO
The Academy of Medical Billing
PS: A special note from Claudia ...
Many people ask: Is the market saturated?
It is estimated that 80% of all claims are generated from the physician's office. Research shows as of 1999 about 15-17% of these claims were being sent electronically. Over the next several years it is anticipated that claims will increasingly be required to be submitted electronically to insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid administrators. Paper claims cost insurance companies far more to process than electronic claims. Some insurance companies even have a surcharge for each paper claim submission and eventually will not accept them at all.
Physicians are being left with the choice of either investing in hardware and software, or outsourcing their billing. Tennessee Blue Cross Blue Shield has already started charging $6 per paper claim. Billing services can charge as little as $2 to $8 a claim and send them electronically, saving the physician money.
Healthcare is the largest industry today. It is growing at an annual rate of 10% per year. Presently, this industry is costing this country over $900 billion dollars each year. It is quite possible that in five to ten years this industry could approach some level that could be considered a form of "saturation." However, it will only be "saturated" in the same sense that accountant's and attorney's fields are considered.
There will always be an ebb and flow to the specific numbers and always room for one more.
